Get to Know Dr. Kathryn Kiskaddon
Dr. Kathryn Kiskaddon has always called Florida home, and since she was inspired to pursue a career in dentistry by our very own Dr. Maggie, she is thrilled to be joining our team! She cannot wait to meet you and your family at your next appointment, but you’re also welcome to learn more about her education, training, and experience by reading on.
Why Did You Decide to Become a Pediatric Dentist?
Her passion for dentistry began while shadowing her hometown pediatric dentist – none other than Dr. Maggie herself! This positive experience was one of the influences which led Dr. Kathryn to pursue a dental degree, and she’s been providing children with the preventive, restorative, and emergency dental care they need for more than six years now. For her, pediatric dentistry offers the best of both worlds: she gets to do what she loves while working with the population she loves most!
Where Did You Study Dentistry?
Dr. Kathryn first attended Palm Beach Atlantic University, which is where she graduated Summa Cum Laude with a B.S. in Biology. Then, she obtained her doctoral dental degree at the University of Florida, College of Dentistry. During her time in dental school, she realized how much she genuinely enjoyed working with children, and that inspired her to organize and lead pediatric-based community dentistry events. She even traveled for two consecutive years on a pediatric dental mission trip to serve the children of San Andros, Bahamas. If that wasn’t impressive enough, she also dedicated two more years to receiving specialty training at the UF Pediatric Dental residency in Gainesville, FL! Plus, she is an active member of the following:
- American Dental Association
- Florida Dental Association
- American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry
Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?
In her spare time, you can usually find her running, cooking, traveling, hanging out with friends and family, and occasionally writing music on her favorite instrument (the piano!).
